Custom cam without the high price

Posted by Larry Price on 1st Dec 2016

I bought this cam to go in my zz383 that I've upgraded with afr heads. This cam is the 3rd roller I've bought. The other 2 were off the shelf from big name cam companies. They all have had the same casting numbers on the cores, but this clay smith cam is the only one that was definitely touched by hand. It has had all the rough edges polished off and had some type of dark coating that the others did not. Came well protected and had no issues during shipping. I wish I had found clay cams years ago, it would have saved me from picking out a off the shelf cam that was not optimal for my engine.
